a sunday garden walk, and an attraction to orange
We are in the process of landscaping a steep slope in our backyard, necessitated by the loss of a huge pine tree which used to anchor the soil.
Having fallen in love with shades of (dare I say it?) orange whilst working with textiles a few years back, I decided that I would honor that hue in the new plantings and pair it with bronze, fuschia, and of course, the green shades of nature.
The nascent installation is replete with orange-ness. This photo captures that hue as it shades to red and burgundy, graced by the droplets of a fog-laden day's first blush.
The Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) auction continues. Here is the schedule of the price on the pieces in my section (2a):
Section 2 - September 20th at 2:00 Eastern - $250
Section 2 - September 21st at 2:00 Eastern - $150
Section 2 - September 22nd at 2:00 Eastern - $75
Click here for a swell array of pieces, including Silvergirl and Sisters!
p.s. The Victorian photo mystery will be solved in tomorrow's post. So far, a few of you have ventured a general guess at what it is, and are definitely warm.
