reflections

The Empire State Building photos were taken when my husband and I visited our son, who lives in New York City. Though it was several years after 9/11, that event was large in our consciousness.

After we had gone to Ground Zero, we were all in a taxi, heading off to a museum. We were quiet, looking out, taking in the vistas. I looked inside the taxi, and saw this incredible tableau. Multiple reflections, reflected meaning everywhere.

I created this piece for an assignment in a digital imaging class. We had to write a poem about a photograph on the photograph itself. The lower portion of the windowed partition between the driver and passengers served as the backdrop for the text. I used Photoshop to bring more light to the driver's name (top left).
