a riot of color

Today I taught a class on the principles of design at the Quilters' Studio in Newbury Park (near Thousand Oaks). Great questions from the students! I am thrilled that next month I will be returning for more discussion on that topic, as well as a demonstration of different mounting techniques -- gallery-wrapping around canvas-covered stretcher bars, and attaching pieces to Plexiglas.

The pictured Chihuly piece was particularly compelling -- wild tendrils in a hot palette, with a touch of cool lurking about.
