seeing is believing

My current art class is the fourth I have taken from this professor, who has a gift both for art-vision and for passing that gift on to her students.

I have written by and by of the importance of negative space -- the area adjacent to the shapes our brains readily interpret (one definition)-- this is one of the principal aspects of art that my instructor analyzes, and I am constantly astounded at how my own vision has altered as it incorporates this principle into my daily sightings.

Notice, then, the shape formed outside these chairs. What do you see? I'll share my vision tomorrow.
