six scintillating surface design days in San Francisco

Art immersion. That's what it was. Holly Brackman's workshop on disperse dye methods was scintillating, and the only bad thing was that sleep became elusive as visions of pleated polyester danced in my head as we learned astounding ways to dye and otherwise mark this much maligned non-natural entity otherwise known as polyester.

The class was offered as a part of SAQA/SDA joint conference (Studio Art Quilt Associates and Surface Design Association) held in San Francisco this past week. What a fully packed experience, including a compelling exhibit of Mali cloth at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Folk Art.  Much more to follow...
