Here's a piece that emerged from a sketch. As per my mode, the scanner captured the image so I could combine the pencil work with a smattering of digital details. Here's the image:

 

I sketched the image with threadwork, and stitched the lines of the surrounding planes in clear monofilament.

The photo does not capture the dimensionality of the piece. I am considering adding a transparent paint (e.g. color) to the grayscale area, but I kinda like the way she emerges from her resting spot.
