meandering with watercolor

The image on the left shows my first stab at painting with watercolors -- this is my sketch that I printed on cotton sateen. She was getting a bit ditzy for me, so I decided to print another piece of fabric and have another go at it.

This time, I watched several You Tube videos on how to watercolor -- proving again what a great resource the web is! (And since I am a fanatic soccer player and fan, even at my advanced age, I urge you to watch the thrilling recap of yesterday's Women's World Cup U.S. victory over favored Brazil here:

I studied figure painting using oils and acrylics, and find that watercolors are a whole other ball-o'wax. My Girl is decidedly orange at this point, and I may or may not temper that down. I might try to do some highlights in turquoise!

I am catching up on old House Hunters episodes, which play in the background as I experiment. I am glad we are never moving.

Did you catch the House Hunters this week with the family of six kids moving to Normandy? What a crew!
