Pilchuck progress

Experimenting yesterday, with creative and technical possibilities...leading up to designing and building our final project. Sometimes information overload creates a haze, perhaps not an impenetrable one, but a haze nonetheless. In the kiln now is a piece that has interrelating sides.

This is one of the sides. The piece developed from sketches I made in the forest. Only hints: spiderweb; heart. This is the reverse side.

I love sandblasting. A matte surface is so subtle and somehow quiet and reassuring.

Location:Pilchuck Glass School, Washington state
