crossover, sketch to textile to glass

I did the last firing on my decal piece, 15" x 15". Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend taught me how to do this process. We used two overlapping decals made from my pencil drawing.

This piece is the latest in a series based on a pencil-and-paper sketch which I scanned and started using for larger pieces. In the textile below, I printed the scanned image on cotton sateen and added stitching.

For this glass piece, I decided to retain the simplicity of black and white in this first venture in to working with decals on glass. I hope to explore adding paint, glass, powders and frit when adventure beckons.
