little (kilnformed glass) whitecaps in the deep blue sea
This is a detail shot of a new piece that will be rolled up (blown) into a vessel. The white lines curve from the middle of the .5" thick glass out toward the top. The blue glass vertical lines are set on a 45 degree angle, so when the glass panel is expanded during the glassblowing process, the lines may (emphasize may) look like a set of waves...well, this is abstraction, after all...
I ordered some silk charmeuse which should arrive tomorrow, tra la, and I plan to use dye to paint it -- tall thin banners, methinks. The design? TBD.
