ice imaginings in kilnformed glass

Texture is something I learned to love when working with textiles. Texture in glass is a whole different enterprise, where planes, curved or flat, usually are baby-bottom smooth.

But icebergs have texture in their smoothness, and this is something I have been thinking about as I work on the Greenland Diary series. Fresh out o' the kiln is a new piece that I hope will suggest that texture!

I still have a lot of work to do on it -- cleaning it up, honing the texture --  but I have been grinning ear-to-ear ever since I took this piece out of the kiln this morning.  It is exactly as I envisioned it. A big woo hoo here.
