

I found them at a Santa Barbara store that is going out of business and the price was discounted (but still a bit pricey at that). What appealed to me was the simple but intricate geometric designs -- spare, but riotous at the same time.
My second glass face piece will come out of the kiln later today. Film at 11! (Well, tomorrow, anyway.)

Wow, what a lucky find for you. I especially love the spiral design on the bottom of the second one. I have studied up on batik and read about these being used for large overall patterns. I have even considered trying my hand at making a few simple wax stamps when I do try batik but I'm just not sure what materials I can get away with using.
Oh what a great find!! Plus shopping in Santa Barbara. I went to UCSB back in the 60s and to date Santa Barbara is one of my most favorite places in the worls.
