.....do you see what I see? (and two months till Christmas, minus a day)...

The first image above was derived from the second image in an exercise in my Visual Design for Multimedia class.  Using Adobe Illustrator, we had to draw a common object using the (expletives deleted) pen tool.

Actually, at first, using the pen tool (available in both Illustrator and Photoshop) was a challenging exercise, but after I figured out what I was doing wrong, the expletives are no longer needed.  The drawing is of a hole punch.  We took portions of our own drawing and used the concepts of of repetition, negative space, line and shape to make our new little designs.

I know what I see in the first image -- heavily influenced, I suspect, by my current work in Things Japanese (the Frasier Crane piece, my Digital to Textile piece, and of course the fabulous obi fabrics I purchased recently).

What do you see?

I see a spoon on a spoon rest with a small mess on the counter. Maybe I spent too much time cleaning house this weekend.

I also see the back of a woman with long dark hair. She might be Asian but it is hard to tell because I can't see her face.
