After my adventures in grids on my last piece, I have been exploring anew some fabric I made in a disperse dyeing workshop earlier this year, searching for variation in line. In this piece, the parallel lines seem to be trying to contain a sunburst.
My next step was to place something over this fabric -- a piece of sheer that I had dyed, with similar marks. Here are the two layers together:
Here is the same fabric with a different sheer overlay I had dyed. It is a solid color, has no grid lines, and I had manipulated it in a heat press to add permanent folds -- which themselves add line and texture:

Those lines and colors remind me of the veins in autumn colored leaves. Very beautiful!
Thank you, Victoria. I still have pojagi constructions in mind, and want to explore using some more complex sheers in them. It's fun to play!
