This swell image is the result of using disperse dye to color two fabrics at the same time, one sheer and one solid. Here is the solid:
Here is another design, first done on a blank and then on a pleated piece of fabric (had I held the fabric in the heat press longer, the pleats would be tighter). Synthetics have thermoplastic properties that make the pleats endure for eternity (amen).
The pleated version is lighter as it was the second or third run on the disperse dye sheet. I have already thought of a trillion ways I can adapt this newfangled method to my work. Stay tuned.
